Dick & Jane

Grandma's copy of Quilter's World came in the mail this week. The cover and insides featured Dick & Jane fabric! The featured quilt used the same ABC fabric that TheMomintheFamily used in one of her pennants!

This Dick & Jane fabric below was in an advertisement for The Craft Connection. Use coupon code QWF7HC for 10% off any one order!

Another Masterpiece from Quilt Club

I dropped in on Quilt Club this morning and was blown away by the beauty of this piece! The lady you see holding up one end in the artist. This is also using the reproduction fabric and she says this is only half of the quilt! She wasn't sure what the finished size is going to be, but it must be a large king size! The picture at right is a part of the other half of the quilt.

Texas Quilt

This beauty was a collaboration of Momma's Quilt Club. I thought it was impressive enough to get it's own post! This is just the top. It hasn't been quilted yet. It is going to be auctioned off when it's completed.

Quilt Club

TheMomInTheFamily requested some pictures from Momma's Quilt Club, so here ya go. I was there for a while before I saw anyone working. The lady behind these hands told me I should have taken a picture of their mouths because that's what was working today!
This is a collection of reproduction fabrics. Below are a few photos of the blocks one lady has been making with her reproduction fabric.

Some of the other projects that were going below... I can't remember what this was called, but it's appliqued wool. She's made one for each month. I think this one was for her June table.

This redwork Santa is a stocking.

This Sunbonnet Sue below was appliqued onto a canvas bag.

The Big Reveal!

As you know, when Glenn goes out of town the girls and I switch into a different way of life. We ate pizza, corn dogs, and cereal (not all at the same meal!), didn't clean anything, stayed up late, slept late, and made stuff. Here's a few that I've photographed. There were others.

This is a cover for a composition notebook. It was a sheet in it's previous life.

One of the thrift stores we went to last week was selling ALL their clothes for $1 each. So I bought this pair of jeans and transformed them. The lining was another sheet we bought.

I think these last couple are my favorites. The first is a quilted pincushion. All the fabrics are new, the rickrack was found at one of the thrift stores.
Two potholders. Again, all new fabrics except for the calendar which came from an old linen towel and the rickrack.

And until I start working again I'll be making all our gifts: Mother's Day, birthdays, etc. So if you see anything you like send me some hints. :-)

Penguins!!!

Oldest daughter has been in a crafty mood the past few days. She'll close herself up in her room for several hours then when she comesout she'll be all excited overwhat she just finished. Here are my two faves:

A penguin iPod cover.

A happy carrot glasses case (for Jordann's new glasses! -- no pics of her yet.)

She also opened an Etsy shop to sell some of her creations. Come by & visit penguinos.
